Skycop review: flight delay and cancellation compensation, no win no fee

Skycop claims compensation from airlines for delayed, cancelled and overbooked flights and takes its fee only if the airline pays. It suits travellers who would rather hand the claim to someone else than argue with an airline. Through our referral link you also get a gift of €25, €50 or €75 once the airline approves your claim.

How to get started

  1. Open Skycop through the link on this page; it opens the claim form with the referral code already attached.
  2. Enter your departure and final destination airports, whether the flight was direct, and what went wrong; the eligibility check is free.
  3. Add your booking, boarding passes and any airline notices, plus fellow passengers if they want to claim too.
  4. Read the price list and terms, then sign the assignment agreement electronically; consumers can withdraw within 14 days.
  5. Follow the claim under Check Claim Status. When the airline approves it, the referral gift is credited, and the compensation is paid out after the fee.

What Skycop does for you

Skycop is a flight compensation company. Its terms name the operator as UAB Skycop.com (company code 304423851), registered in Vilnius, Lithuania, and Skycop says it has been working on passenger rights for more than 10 years, with over a million compensated customers across 250+ airlines.

It handles delayed and cancelled flights, overbooking and denied boarding, missed connections and airline strikes. You submit your flight, Skycop assesses whether the claim can succeed, and if it can, it contacts the airline, negotiates and, when a settlement fails, takes the case to court, an ADR body or a regulator. You sign an agreement that assigns your claim to Skycop.

The check itself is free and takes a few minutes: route, flight details, what happened and the reason the airline gave. Skycop stresses that this first assessment is not a promise of payment.

How much compensation you can claim

For flights covered by EU Regulation 261/2004, Skycop lists the standard amounts per passenger:

Route Compensation
Up to 1,500 km €250
Within the EU over 1,500 km, other routes 1,500–3,500 km €400
Other routes over 3,500 km €600

On the longest routes, an arrival delay of 3 to under 4 hours can cut €600 to €300, and a replacement flight can also lead to a 50% reduction. Under UK261 the amounts are £220, £350 or £520. Skycop also publishes guides to Turkey's SHY rules, Brazil's ANAC 400 and Canada's APPR, and its form tells you which rules apply to your trip.

There is no single deadline: time limits depend on national law, so send your details promptly.

Skycop fees: what you actually receive

Submitting a claim is free, and if the airline pays nothing, you owe nothing. If it pays, Skycop deducts a fixed amount set in its price list (VAT included):

Award Skycop fee You receive With legal proceedings: fee / you receive
€250 €110 €140 €125 / €125
€400 €176 €224 €200 / €200
€600 €264 €336 €300 / €300

That is 44% of the award, or 50% when Skycop had to start legal proceedings; other amounts, such as UK pound awards, use those percentages. Skycop pays court fees, lawyers and translations itself, and if a court case is lost you pay nothing.

The referral gift softens the fee: on a €600 award you receive €336 plus a €75 gift. Skycop's terms say gifts cannot be exchanged for cash, so treat the gift as a bonus rather than part of the payout. For frequent flyers, Skycop also advertises prepaid flight protection from €9.99 with 0% commission claims.

Who Skycop is for

  • Travellers whose flight was delayed 3+ hours, cancelled or overbooked and who don't want to deal with the airline's forms and refusals.
  • Passengers already turned down by an airline: Skycop can escalate to court at its own cost and risk.
  • Families and groups: fellow passengers can be added, and Skycop can pay everyone into one account if you allow it.

If you mainly care about the fee, compare it first: our AirHelp review (35% incl. VAT) and Compensair review (30%) cover two services that keep a smaller share. More options are in our best travel services.

Good to know before you sign

  • Hands off the airline: once you sign, you must not deal with the airline or accept its payment. If it pays you anyway, tell Skycop at once and pay its fee within 10 days.
  • Cash only: Skycop accepts money, not travel vouchers, from the airline.
  • Withdrawal: consumers can withdraw within 14 days by email. Cancelling later, after work or court action has started, can cost administration and legal fees.
  • Payout: within SEPA the money comes by bank transfer; on international transfers bank fees come off your share. Wrong bank details can cost you extra fees.
  • Gift limits: the referral gift is paid only after the airline approves the claim, and not to people whose bank account is in one of the countries Skycop excludes, including Russia, Indonesia, China, Belarus, Iran and the Philippines.
  • Law: Lithuanian law governs the terms, with your country's mandatory consumer protections still applying. Support is by email (info@skycop.com) and WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Skycop promo code or referral bonus?

Skycop has no discount on its fee, but its refer-a-friend programme gives a referred passenger a gift of €25, €50 or €75, depending on whether the award is €250, €400 or €600. The gift is credited once the airline approves the claim. Opening Skycop through the link on this page applies the referral automatically.

How much does Skycop charge?

€110, €176 or €264 including VAT on a €250, €400 or €600 award, which is 44%. If legal proceedings are needed, the fee becomes €125, €200 or €300 (50%). You pay nothing if the claim fails.

Is Skycop legit?

Skycop is operated by UAB Skycop.com, a Lithuanian company (code 304423851) in Vilnius, and publishes its terms, price list and referral rules. Support is by email and WhatsApp. The caveat is the fee: you keep 56% of the award, or 50% after court action.

How long does a Skycop claim take?

Skycop does not promise a payment date. Timing depends on how quickly the airline responds, your documents and whether a court or authority gets involved.

Can I cancel a Skycop claim?

Yes. Consumers can withdraw within 14 days of signing by sending an email. After that, ending the agreement once work or legal proceedings have started can mean paying Skycop's administration and legal costs.

Is Skycop worth it?

It is worth it if the airline ignores or rejects you and you don't want to go to court alone. If the airline pays on a direct claim, you keep 100% by doing it yourself, and services with lower fees are worth comparing.
