What you get with Kiwitaxi
Kiwitaxi books private transfers from airports, ports, stations and hotels with local transport companies. You see the price before booking and pay what you see; the driver meets you at the agreed point with a sign bearing your name and helps with luggage.
According to the company:
- 1,400,000+ completed rides and 100+ countries served, with 14,000+ destinations;
- 24/7 support by online chat and email;
- an app with bookings, a loyalty program and TravelMate city guides;
- hourly chauffeur hire in addition to one-way transfers.
Kiwitaxi itself is not the carrier. The service is operated by IT Travel LP (UK registration SL24264, Edinburgh, Scotland), acting as agent for the local transport company that actually provides the ride.
Who Kiwitaxi is for
- Arriving travellers who want a driver waiting instead of a taxi queue or negotiating a fare.
- Families who need child seats, boosters or a minivan.
- Groups of up to 19 passengers using minibuses.
- Late or unpredictable flights, since airport pick-ups include 90 minutes of free waiting.
- Business travellers who prefer Business or Premium cars.
Car classes, extras and payment
Classes range from Micro, Economy and Comfort through Business and Premium to minivans, SUVs and minibuses for up to 19 passengers. Extras include infant seats, child seats and boosters, an extra hour of waiting, a ski box, pets, drinking water, an extra stop and a Women Driving Women option (a woman driver is prioritised but not guaranteed).
Depending on your country, you can:
- pay the full amount online in a currency of your choice;
- pay a small prepayment online and the rest in cash to the driver;
- pay the driver in cash with no prepayment (not on all routes).
Cards accepted online are Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay; the card is charged in US dollars or euros. Standard luggage is up to 63 inches (sum of three dimensions); skis, bikes, strollers and other non-standard items need prior agreement and may cost more. Prices depend on route and car class and are shown at booking; no promo code is advertised.
Booking deadlines and waiting time
Kiwitaxi splits cars into two groups, and the group decides how early you must book, change or cancel:
| Group 1: Micro, Economy, Comfort, Minivan 4, Minibus 7, SUV | Group 2: Business, Premium, Minibus 10 to 19, Luxury SUV | |
|---|---|---|
| Book at least | 16 hours ahead | 24 hours ahead |
| Free cancellation | More than 16 hours before | More than 24 hours before |
Free waiting is 90 minutes at airports and ports and 15 minutes elsewhere. For airport pick-ups the driver tracks flights delayed by less than 30 minutes; for longer delays you should tell the driver or support. Beyond 90 minutes, the driver may charge for extra waiting.
Cancellation, refunds and good to know
- On time: cancel more than 16 hours (group 1) or 24 hours (group 2) before pick-up for a full refund of what you paid.
- Late: after those deadlines, the prepayment is not refunded.
- Free cancellation upgrade: an optional paid service lets you cancel any time and get a full refund minus the cost of that service, within 10 days of the cancellation notice.
- Changes are accepted up to 24 hours before the transfer; if a change raises the cost you pay the difference.
- No-show: if you don't appear by the end of the free waiting time and can't be reached by phone, the full cost is kept.
- Driver no-show: file a claim with proof you were at the meeting point, for example a photo with a clock and the arrivals board.
Refunds go back to the card used, within at most sixty working days.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a Kiwitaxi promo code?
Kiwitaxi does not advertise a promo code or sign-up discount; the price shown at booking is the fixed price.
Is Kiwitaxi legit?
Kiwitaxi is operated by IT Travel LP, registered in the UK (SL24264) in Edinburgh, and publishes its customer offer with cancellation and refund rules. Support is 24/7 via chat and email. Note that it acts as an agent: the ride is provided by a local transport company.
How long will a Kiwitaxi driver wait at the airport?
The price includes 90 minutes of waiting at airports and ports, and 15 minutes at other pick-up points. You can buy an extra hour of waiting as an add-on.
Can I cancel a Kiwitaxi transfer for free?
Yes, if you cancel more than 16 hours before pick-up for Economy-type cars, or more than 24 hours for Business, Premium and larger minibuses. Later cancellations are not refunded unless you bought the free cancellation upgrade.
Can I pay the Kiwitaxi driver in cash?
On some routes, yes: either the full amount in cash or a small online prepayment and the rest in cash. Pay in the currency shown on your voucher.
Is Kiwitaxi cheaper than a taxi?
Prices vary by route and car class. The advantage is a fixed price known in advance, not a guaranteed lower fare.
