Which residential proxy provider should you pick?

It depends on how much traffic you use and how steadily:

  • Geonode for the lowest price per GB: $0.792/GB on a 10 GB monthly plan, $0.27/GB at 100 TB.
  • ProxyShare or BestProxy for $9 per 10 GB, but packages last 30 days.
  • PacketStream for pure pay as you go: a flat $1.00/GB after a $50 minimum.
  • ProxyWing to start small: $2.50 for 1 GB that never expires.
  • MarsProxies for non-expiring traffic and sticky sessions of up to 7 days.
  • Oxylabs for the largest pool and ZIP or ASN targeting, at a premium price.
  • NodeMaven if clean IPs for account work matter more than price.
  • Anonymous Proxies or CatProxies for a free trial.
  • 711Proxy for a cheap first test: 5 GB for $5.99 for new users.
  • 9Proxy to pay per IP instead of per GB.

How to choose a residential proxy: what we compared

A residential proxy routes your requests through IP addresses that internet providers assign to homes. Plans are billed per GB, so check more than the headline price.

  • Price per GB at your volume. Headline rates assume huge orders, so the table quotes the smallest purchase.
  • Minimum purchase and traffic expiry. Some packages expire after 30 days, others never.
  • Trial and refunds. Refunds are strict, so a cheap test matters; Anonymous Proxies and CatProxies offer free trials, Oxylabs a $5 credit.
  • Targeting and sessions. City, state, ISP or ZIP targeting is not standard. Sticky sessions range from minutes to days.

Pick them if you use traffic every month. The downside: ProxyShare traffic expires after 30 days, BestProxy payments are final, neither serves mainland China, and neither site names its company. See the ProxyShare review and the BestProxy review.

PacketStream: the simplest pay as you go

PacketStream runs a peer-to-peer network of people sharing home bandwidth through an app. Its pricing page lists $1.00 per GB, a $50 minimum, no subscription and a balance that does not expire, in 30 listed countries.

Pick it if your workload is irregular. The downside: the highest entry here, no volume discounts, no city targeting described, and sticky sessions end if the device goes offline. Unused balance is refundable within 24 hours of purchase. See our PacketStream review.

ProxyWing: start with 1 GB and keep it

ProxyWing (Travchis LLC, Delaware) sells never-expiring residential traffic with city and ISP targeting in 190+ countries and sticky sessions of up to 1,000 minutes (Standard) or 7 days (Premium). Its prices page runs from $2.50 for 1 GB to $1.50/GB at 1,000 GB and $1.00/GB from 10,000 GB; it takes cards, PayPal and crypto.

NodeMaven: filtered IPs for account work

NodeMaven screens IPs against fraud scores and blacklists; it claims a 95% clean IP rate. It targets city and ISP, with sticky sessions of up to 24 hours. Per its pricing page, monthly plans start at $8.50 for 2 GB ($4.25/GB) and reach $2.20/GB on larger plans. Unused traffic rolls over, and monthly plans earn cashback on used traffic.

Pick it if a flagged IP on your social or ad accounts costs more than the traffic. The downside: the highest per-GB price at small volumes, only a paid trial ($3.50 for 750 MB), and non-refundable subscriptions. See the NodeMaven review.

Anonymous Proxies and CatProxies: free trials

Anonymous Proxies (Romania) bills rotating residential traffic per GB with no minimum commit, targets down to ZIP code and offers a free trial. Pick it if you need ZIP targeting for local ad checks. The downside: the per-GB rate appears only in the price calculator, and its restrictions page bans many targets. More in the Anonymous Proxies review.

CatProxies (Romania) offers a free residential trial with no credit card. Its pricing page lists a Standard pool of 20M+ IPs from $2.50 for 1 GB to $1.26/GB at 250 GB. Pick it if you want to test before paying. The downside: refunds only if you used under 50 MB and ask within 3 days. See the CatProxies review.

711Proxy and 9Proxy: $5.99 starter pack or pay per IP

711Proxy (Velocity Wave Limited, Hong Kong) offers sessions of up to 180 minutes. Its residential pricing page offers new users 5 GB for $5.99; regular packages run from $1.40/GB (40 GB) to $0.76/GB (525 GB), and leftover traffic freezes after 30 to 180 days until you buy again. Pick it if you want a cheap first test. The downside: no free trial, no refunds once used, not in mainland China. See the 711Proxy review.

9Proxy (ConnectWise Limited, Hong Kong) claims 20M+ IPs in 90+ countries with ISP and ZIP targeting. Its pricing page lists GB plans from $3.00/GB (5 GB) to $0.75/GB (2,000 GB), valid 180 days, and per-IP plans from 100 IPs for $24: each activated IP has unlimited bandwidth for a few hours up to 24, and unused IPs never expire. Pick it if you hold one IP for hours. The downside: all sales are final, per-IP plans need the desktop app, and IPs are shared. See the 9Proxy review.

Oxylabs and Geonode: biggest pool or lowest price at scale

Oxylabs (Lithuania) claims 175M+ residential IPs in 195 countries, with city, ZIP, coordinate and ASN targeting and sticky sessions of up to 24 hours. Its pricing page uses one subscription for all products: $6/GB on the $30 Starter plan, $5 on Basic ($100), $4 on Flexible ($500) and $2.5 on Enterprise. New accounts get a one-time $5 credit. Pick it if you need deep coverage and invoices. The downside: every customer passes a KYC check, some sites (banks, streaming, government) are blocked, and self-service purchases are not refunded. See the Oxylabs review.

Geonode (Singapore) says it runs its own network of 7.5M+ monthly active IPs in 150+ countries. Its residential page lists 10 GB for $7.92 a month down to $0.27/GB at 100 TB; unused subscription traffic rolls over, and a $5 trial gives 10 GB for 3 days. Pick it if price per GB matters most. The downside: a smaller pool for rare locations, and refunds only for billing errors. See the Geonode review.

Use residential proxies within the rules

Residential proxies are a normal tool for public data collection, ad and search checks in other cities, price monitoring and testing localized sites. Every provider here forbids fraud, spam and unauthorized access, and several may ask for ID. Check the provider's acceptable use policy and the target site's terms before you buy.
