What is Drimsim?

Drimsim is a prepaid travel SIM for mobile data. Instead of being tied to one carrier, it connects to a local network in each country, with coverage in 190 countries. It works in phones, tablets and mobile hotspots, and Drimsim allows sharing the connection as a hotspot with no data-sharing limit.

Two formats are available:

  • Classic SIM in nano, micro or mini size, shipped worldwide by registered mail.
  • eSIM, delivered by email in a minute and installed by scanning a QR code; Drimsim says it works on the latest iPhones and Android devices only.

The Drimsim app activates the SIM, tops up the balance, tracks spending and connects you to support, which is available 24/7 in English and Russian. The terms name the operator as Drimsim Limited, with an address in Tsim Sha Tsui East, Hong Kong.

Drimsim pricing

  • SIM card: €10 for the classic SIM, according to the homepage and country pages.
  • No monthly fees: you pay only for the data you use, from a prepaid balance.
  • Data rates: charged per MB and different for each country, with separate rates for eSIM. For example, the United States page lists €0.01 per MB for both SIM and eSIM. Check the destination page before travelling, as Drimsim's terms allow it to change rates without advance notice.
  • Shipping: delivery time depends on your region; express delivery is available through support chat at a higher price. eSIM delivery is free.

Drimsim focuses on mobile internet; its pages do not describe calls, SMS or a local phone number.

Inactive accounts: the SIM must be used within 360 days of receipt. If there are no network sessions for 360 days, a €3 monthly account reservation fee is debited from day 361 until you use it again; if that empties the balance, the agreement ends and the SIM stops working.

Refunds and returns

  • Connection failure: if the SIM does not connect within 24 hours of a support request (12 hours if support does not respond), fees are refundable.
  • Faulty SIM: claim within 14 days of receipt; the refund, including delivery at the lowest tariff, is paid within 60 days.
  • Unwanted SIM: a fault-free classic SIM can be returned within 14 days of receipt, refunded minus delivery fees. Unopened SIMs are refundable on request; this does not apply to eSIM.
  • Balance: refund claims must be made within 14 days of payment, and only payments from those 14 days are refundable. Promotional balance is not refunded.
  • Refunds go back to the original payment method.

Who Drimsim is for and limits

  • Multi-country travellers who want one SIM across borders instead of a local card in each country.
  • Light data users who mainly need maps and messaging, and benefit from paying per MB.
  • Short-trip travellers who prefer an eSIM delivered by email in a minute.
  • Laptop and tablet users who want hotspot sharing with no sharing limit.

Limits to know:

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • The eSIM only works on recent iPhones and Android devices.
  • The terms are governed by the law of Andorra, with Andorran courts having exclusive jurisdiction, wherever you live.
  • For physical SIMs you are the importer and must follow local customs rules; lost parcels caused by a wrong address are not Drimsim's responsibility.
