Best instant crypto exchanges: swap crypto without an exchange account
Instant exchanges let you swap one coin for another wallet to wallet, without opening and funding an account on a big exchange. The short answer: use SimpleSwap if you want to swap between 2,800+ coins in one place with a fixed or floating rate, and use BestChange if you want to compare hundreds of exchangers for the best rate, especially when converting crypto to a card or e-wallet. "No account" never means "no checks": both routes can still ask for ID. This guide explains how each works, what it costs and where it is not available.
Crypto-assets are highly volatile and largely unregulated in many countries. You can lose all the money you put in. Not investment advice.
In the EU/EEA, check that the provider is authorised under MiCA in your country.

The short answer
SimpleSwap and BestChange solve the same problem from two directions.
- Pick SimpleSwap if you want one service that does the swap for you: choose two coins, enter your receiving address, send the deposit, and the exchanged coins arrive in your wallet. It lists 2,800+ cryptocurrencies and 3.2M+ pairs, including cross-chain swaps, with no account needed for most crypto-to-crypto swaps.
- Pick BestChange if you want to shop around. It is a free monitor, not an exchange: it compares around 486 exchangers by rate and reserve, refreshing rates every 5 to 8 seconds, and you then trade on the exchanger's own site. It is strongest for directions such as USDT to a bank card or between e-wallets.
Both exclude some countries, including the US, UK and EU for SimpleSwap, so check yours first.
What an instant crypto exchange is (and what "no registration" really means)
An instant exchange (also called a swap service or exchanger) takes a deposit of one coin and sends you another coin at a quoted rate. You never keep a balance there: each swap is a single order with its own ID, and the result goes to the address you entered. That is different from a centralized exchange such as Binance or Kraken, where you open an account, deposit funds, trade on an order book and withdraw.
People search for swaps "without registration" for speed on one-off swaps, to avoid parking funds on a platform, and to reach coins big exchanges don't list.
What "no registration" does not mean is anonymity or freedom from checks. Swap services and exchangers apply anti-money-laundering (AML) rules. SimpleSwap's AML/KYC policy says it may escalate checks when monitoring flags a transaction, may require KYC on any transaction at its discretion, can request ID, source of funds and a liveness check, and can temporarily freeze a transaction during the review. BestChange's FAQ says every listed exchanger is obliged to comply with AML and KYC requirements and may request documents when a transaction is marked as suspicious. Plan for that possibility, use funds whose origin you can document, and never use these services to get around rules that apply to you.
How to choose an instant exchange
These are the criteria that decide which service fits, and they apply equally to other swap services you will meet in searches, such as ChangeNOW, Changelly or FixedFloat.
- Availability in your country. Many instant exchanges exclude the US, the UK and the EU. A service you are not allowed to use is not an option.
- Coverage of your pair and network. Check both the coin and the network (for example, USDT on TRC20 vs ERC20). Sending on the wrong network is the most common way to lose a deposit, and refunds for it are usually excluded.
- Total cost, not the headline fee. Swap services build their fee into the quoted rate, and network fees come on top. Compare the final amount you receive for your exact amount.
- Fixed or floating rate. A fixed rate locks the quote for a window if your deposit confirms in time; a floating rate follows the market and can end higher or lower.
- Minimums and limits. Below the minimum, swaps can fail and refunds are not guaranteed.
- KYC and refund policy. Read when checks can be triggered, what happens to funds during a review, and which mistakes are not refundable.
- Who is behind it. A named company and published rules matter when something goes wrong.
SimpleSwap: best for swapping many coins in one place
SimpleSwap describes itself as a self-custodial swap aggregator that has been running since 2018. It routes swaps through 20+ centralized and decentralized liquidity providers and supports 2,800+ cryptocurrencies with 3.2M+ trading pairs. It has iOS and Android apps and 24/7 live chat.
How it charges: there is no separate trading fee on top of the quote. For crypto-to-crypto swaps the fee is inside the rate and, according to the FAQ, may start from 0.2% for some assets. Card purchases go through providers whose fees may start from 0.5%. You also pay your own wallet's network fee for the deposit; fixed-rate quotes already include the receiving-side network fee.
Rates and timing: a fixed rate is locked for 20 minutes, and your deposit needs at least one blockchain confirmation in that window; if it arrives late and the market has moved, the order can fail and you are offered a refund or the new rate. A floating rate has no strict upper limit. Minimums depend on the pair and can be as low as about $0.50 for some assets. Many swaps finish within minutes; SimpleSwap gives 1 to 60 minutes as a rough, non-guaranteed reference.
Optional account: signing up with email or Google adds swap history, price alerts and the Loyalty Program, with service-fee discounts from 5% (Bronze) to 20% (Platinum) or USDT cashback up to 0.4%.
The downside: the restricted-locations list in its Terms of Service includes the United States and its territories, the United Kingdom, all 27 EU member states, China, India, Japan and others. Any swap can be held for KYC and frozen during review. Refunds are excluded for a wrong coin or network, a missing memo or tag, an expired order or a deposit below the minimum, and requests can take up to 31 days. The terms do not name the company behind the service. More detail in our SimpleSwap review.
BestChange: best for comparing exchangers and cashing out
BestChange is a rate monitor running since 2007. Its homepage says it constantly queries hundreds of exchange services and updates rates every 5 to 8 seconds; at the time of writing it listed 486 exchangers and about a million exchange rates. It covers crypto, e-wallets, bank cards, transfers and cash, so it is useful for directions an instant crypto-to-crypto swap service doesn't cover, such as USDT to a bank card.

How it works: pick what you give and what you get, and BestChange lists exchangers sorted by rate, with each one's reserve (how much it can pay out in that direction), review count and icons showing manual processing, fixed rates or required verification. You click an exchanger and create the order on its site. Extras include a calculator, rate history, email or Telegram alerts, a rates API and an AML address check.
How it charges: the monitor itself is free to browse without registration. Exchangers include their commission in the rates shown or mark it with labels, and your payment system may charge you as the sender.
Exchanger rules: BestChange says every exchanger is checked before listing and monitored afterwards. Its participation rules require exchangers to publish the rates they actually apply with all costs included, follow AML requirements, and reply to a user claim within 48 hours (24 hours after a notice from BestChange); violations can switch an exchanger off the monitor for at least 4 hours. If an exchange is delayed, contact the exchanger first, then leave a claim with the operation ID on its BestChange page.
The downside: BestChange is not a guarantor. Your counterparty is the exchanger you pick, so its reserve, reviews, age and KYC rules matter more than a slightly better rate. BestChange has no official apps in Google Play or the App Store, so beware of imitations. Its terms name Agretis Software Design LLC in Dubai as licensor and bar users in sanctioned jurisdictions, and many listed directions involve ruble cards and CIS payment systems. SimpleSwap vs BestChange: which fits your swap
| Your situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Swap an altcoin for another coin, once | SimpleSwap | 2,800+ coins in one interface, no account |
| Lock the rate before sending | SimpleSwap | Fixed rate held for 20 minutes |
| Cash out USDT to a bank card or e-wallet | BestChange | Compares exchangers for card, e-wallet and cash directions |
| Get the best rate on a larger amount | BestChange | Side-by-side rates and reserves across hundreds of exchangers |
| You live in the US, UK or EU | Neither as a default | SimpleSwap restricts these regions; check each exchanger's own terms |
You can also use both: check BestChange's rates, then compare SimpleSwap's quote for the same amount.
How to swap safely
- Check the network and memo twice. Wrong-network deposits and missing memos or tags are excluded from refunds at SimpleSwap and are hard to fix anywhere.
- Keep your order ID and transaction hash. Support and claims need them.
- Expect possible verification. Keep ID ready and use funds whose source you can show; a flagged swap can be paused until checks finish.
- Pick exchangers by trust, not only rate. On BestChange, look at reserve, reviews and claims before the extra fraction of a percent.
- Store coins in a wallet you control. A swap service is not a place to hold funds; see our guide to the best hardware wallets.
- Keep records for tax. In many countries a crypto-to-crypto swap is a taxable event; our guide to the best crypto tax software compares tools that build the report.
Crypto-assets are volatile, and you can lose money through price moves or mistakes in a swap. Nothing here is investment advice. For more services in this space, see our crypto exchanges category.
Frequently asked questions
Can I exchange crypto without registration?
Yes. SimpleSwap handles most crypto-to-crypto swaps without an account, and BestChange can be browsed without registration, though each exchanger it lists sets its own order and verification rules. But no registration is not the same as no checks: a swap can be flagged and held until you provide ID, proof of address or source of funds.
Are instant crypto exchanges anonymous?
No. They follow AML rules, monitor transactions and can request identity documents, and SimpleSwap's policy allows a liveness check and freezing a transaction during review. Treat them as a convenient way to swap, not a way to avoid verification.
What is the cheapest way to swap crypto instantly?
Compare the final amount you receive, not the advertised fee, because swap services build their fee into the rate and network fees come on top. BestChange shows many exchangers' rates side by side, and you can compare them with SimpleSwap's quote for the same amount.
Is SimpleSwap available in the US, UK or EU?
No. Its Terms of Service list the United States and its territories, the United Kingdom and all EU member states among restricted locations, along with countries such as China, India and Japan.
Does BestChange exchange crypto itself?
No. BestChange is a free monitor that compares exchangers; you create the order on the exchanger's own site. It is not a guarantor, so a delayed or failed exchange is handled with the exchanger, with a claim on its BestChange page as the next step.
What happens if I send coins on the wrong network?
At SimpleSwap, deposits on the wrong coin or network, without a required memo, below the minimum or on an expired order are not eligible for refunds. Always check the network and memo before sending.
