What you get with Radical Storage

Radical Storage connects travelers with local businesses that keep bags for a fee: shops, cafés, hotels, restaurants and self-service lockers, including its own Radical lockers. It started in Rome in 2016 as Bagbnb and later became Radical Storage. The company behind it is Lean Team S.r.l., an Italian company.

The site lists 16,135 storage points in 2,335 cities, near stations, airports, city centres and sights, and says each partner is checked before joining. It works on the website and in iOS and Android apps.

Who Radical Storage is for

Travelers with an early check-out or late flight who want to explore hands-free.
Train and layover passengers with a few hours between connections.
Cruise passengers with time in port before or after the ship.
People carrying bulky gear: bikes, strollers, surfboards and sports gear are accepted, with no size limits.
Shoppers who want to drop bags and keep going.

It is less suited to long-term storage: stays of more than a week need to be arranged with support. Not accepted: money, laptops, phones and tablets, gold, silver and precious stones, works of art, antiques, weapons, drugs, plants and animals, and dangerous materials.

Free cancellation. Cancel at any time before the scheduled check-in time for a full refund.
Changes. Edit the booking up to drop-off, add bags or extend days from Active Orders in the app or on the site, or ask support.
Late pick-up. Small delays are fine; significant lateness may lead to extra fees from the location. A Flexible hours option can be added when booking.
Guarantee. Each bag is covered up to €10,000 against damage, theft or loss. The terms state this is not insurance: claims are decided at the company's discretion, you must be 18+, a registered user and the owner of the goods, the booking must be made online, and valuables are excluded.
