Skool referral link and review
Skool is a platform for running an online community with courses, events, leaderboards and paid memberships in one group. It has two plans, Hobby at $9/month and Pro at $99/month, both with a 14-day free trial. Skool advertises no discount for referred users, so this page covers prices, fees and rules.
No extra sign-up bonus via this link — the provider's standard terms apply.
Referral link disclosure: the button above is our referral link. If you sign up through it, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The bonus and terms are set by Skool and can change — check them on the official site before you sign up.
How to get started
- Open Skool through the referral link on this page; it carries the referral code in the URL, so there is nothing to type.
- Create a Skool account with your email.
- Start a new group; the group-creation screen shows who referred you.
- Pick the Hobby ($9/month) or Pro ($99/month) plan and start the 14-day free trial.
- Set up your community feed, classroom and pricing before the trial ends, or cancel under Settings > Billing if Skool is not a fit.
What is Skool?
Skool (operated by Skool.com, Inc., El Segundo, California) lets a creator or business run a membership community in a single group. A group combines:
- Community feed – posts, comments and likes from members.
- Classroom – courses with videos; admins can lock courses until a member reaches a certain level.
- Calendar – events, Skool Call and Go Live for live sessions.
- Leaderboards – each like a post or comment receives is 1 point for its author, and members climb 9 levels (Level 2 at 5 points, up to Level 9 at 33,015 points). Levels are tracked per group.
- Payments – charge for membership or set up one-time course purchases, with payouts to your bank.
- Discovery – a public directory where groups can be found, with a Growth Boost option for members Skool sends you.
Both plans include unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls, a custom URL and affiliates for your own group.
Who it's for
Skool fits coaches, course creators, consultants and brands that want members to talk to each other, not just watch lessons. Leaderboards and level-based course unlocks are built to keep members posting.
It is a weaker fit if you need a fully branded standalone site or app, or only sell a one-off course without a community. Users must be 13 or older.
Pricing and transaction fees
| Hobby | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $9 | $99 |
| Free trial | 14 days | 14 days |
| Fee on member payments | 10% + 30c | 2.9% + 30c up to $899; 3.9% + 30c above $900 |
| Members, courses, videos, live calls | Unlimited | Unlimited |
The pricing page has a yearly toggle with a "2 months free!" banner but does not list the yearly prices. Member subscriptions are priced and paid in USD; Skool pays you out in your local currency. Transaction fees are non-refundable.
If you use Growth Boost, Skool takes a 30% commission on customers it brings to your group; for members you bring yourself, only processing fees apply.
Billing, refunds and payouts
- No refunds. Subscription fees, once paid, are non-refundable, including partial billing periods and periods you did not use the platform.
- Auto-renewal. Plans are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled; Skool can change fees with 30 days' email notice.
- Cancelling. Cancel under Settings > Billing or by emailing help@skool.com. You keep access until the end of the paid period, then the group is archived and becomes read-only; you can reactivate it later.
- Payouts. Money from members is paid out every Wednesday to a bank account after ID verification. US accounts receive it in 1–3 business days, international accounts in 3–5; the first payout can take up to 14 days. Payouts are only available in the countries on Skool's supported list, so check it before you build a paid group.
Skool affiliate program terms
Every Skool account, including free ones, has an affiliate link in settings. Skool's affiliate page offers 40% of the subscription price for life for each group created through your link: about $39/month for a Pro group and $3.60/month for a Hobby group, adjusting if the group changes plan.
The help article adds the rules:
- Attribution is last-touch with a 14-day cookie.
- New commissions stay pending for 14 days in case the payment is refunded.
- Payouts go to a bank account through a Connect account with ID verification.
- Self-referrals and ads bidding on the Skool keyword are not allowed.
- Commissions stop if the referred group is archived or its ownership changes.
If a member of your own group later creates a group, Skool credits that referral to you automatically.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a Skool referral code or promo code?
The referral link on this page carries a referral code in the URL. Skool does not advertise a discount for referred users, so you pay the standard $9 or $99 per month after the same 14-day free trial everyone gets.
Is Skool legit?
Skool is operated by Skool.com, Inc. in El Segundo, California, under Delaware law. It publishes terms, a payment policy, a help center and a support address (help@skool.com). The main caveat is that subscription fees are non-refundable, so use the 14-day trial to decide.
How much does Skool cost?
Hobby costs $9/month with a 10% + 30c fee on member payments. Pro costs $99/month with 2.9% + 30c on payments up to $899 and 3.9% + 30c above that. Both start with a 14-day free trial.
How does the Skool referral program work?
Any Skool user can share their affiliate link and earn 40% of the subscription price of each group created through it, for as long as that group stays active and under the same owner. Attribution uses a 14-day last-click cookie.
