What is BoldSign?

BoldSign is an eSignature service from Syncfusion, Inc., a Delaware corporation headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina. You use it to send documents for signature, sign them and track their status through a web app, Android and iOS apps, or a REST API.

Main features listed on the site:

  • Templates and bulk send – reusable templates on paid plans; bulk send to many recipients from a CSV file.
  • Signer verification – signer authentication on every plan, plus paid add-ons for ID verification, knowledge-based authentication (KBA), SMS authentication and qualified electronic signatures (QES).
  • Delivery options – signing links by email, and by SMS or WhatsApp as add-ons.
  • AI tools – automatic field detection, AI field detection and AI search on higher plans.
  • Integrations – Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft OneDrive, Power Automate, Zapier and Xero.

BoldSign states that it meets SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA and PCI DSS requirements, uses AES-256 encryption, and that its signatures are enforceable under the US ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS regulation. HIPAA use is tied to annual Business plans with a signed BAA.

Who it's for

  • Individuals and freelancers who send a few contracts a month can stay on the free Essential plan.
  • Small teams that need shared templates, in-person signing and team management fit the Growth plan.
  • Companies with heavy volume get unlimited envelopes, SSO, custom roles and IP restrictions on Business.
  • Developers embedding signing into their own product use the Enterprise API plan, with a free sandbox for testing.
  • Non-profits get Growth free and 50% off Business and Premium.

Billing, refunds and restrictions

  • Fees are non-refundable. The terms of use state that all fees are non-refundable and exclude taxes, which you pay.
  • Auto-renewal. Billing cycles renew automatically for the same period until you cancel; you can cancel from your account at any time.
  • Failed payments. You get ten days after notice to fix a failed payment before the subscription is cancelled.
  • Export restrictions. The terms prohibit using or transferring BoldSign to countries under a US trade embargo or to their residents, so the service is not available everywhere.

BoldSign affiliate program

BoldSign runs a public affiliate program on Rewardful that creators and publishers can apply to. Approved affiliates earn 30% of a referred customer's first 12 payments within the first 12 months, on base subscription fees only (add-ons like SMS authentication and bulk send are excluded). Tracking lasts 90 days, payouts go out weekly by PayPal with no minimum, and commission becomes due 30 days after the customer pays.

Rules: approval is required, self-referrals and ads on BoldSign brand keywords are banned, and you must choose either the Affiliate program or the separate Partner program for consultants, not both. The program is global except for restricted regions.
