Klook review: tours, transfers, rail passes and eSIMs in one app

What you can book with Klook

Klook is an online marketplace for travel experiences and local transport, operated by Klook Travel Technology Limited, incorporated in Hong Kong. Klook says local teams cover thousands of destinations. The catalog covers what you do once you arrive:

• Attractions and tours, delivered as vouchers.
• Airport transfers: express trains, shuttle buses, public buses, taxis and private cars. Transfers are one-way, so pick-up and drop-off are booked separately.
• Trains and rail passes: the help center has sections for the Japan Rail Pass, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan trains, Europe trains and Hong Kong High Speed Rail.
• Car rental, on the web and in the app, with add-ons such as child seats and a choice of insurance coverage.
• Hotels, booked on Klook with hotel vouchers.
• eSIMs: mobile data packages activated by scanning a QR code or directly in the app.

Who Klook is for

• First-time visitors to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan or Hong Kong who want tickets, a rail pass and an airport transfer sorted before they land.
• Travelers who like one app for vouchers, bookings and support instead of several local sites.
• Families and groups booking private transfers or car rental with child seats.
• Anyone who needs data abroad and wants an eSIM in the same account as their tickets.

It is less useful if you only need flights. Each listing is supplied by a local operator, so inclusions, meeting points and cancellation terms differ by product; read the activity page rather than assuming one rule for everything.

Klook prices, KlookCash and promo codes

Klook shows a price on every listing; there is no subscription or membership fee to book. Two things can lower what you pay:

• Promo codes are entered at checkout. Their own terms decide what happens on cancellation: a one-time code is not reissued, while a reusable code returns to your account.
• KlookCash is Klook's in-account credit. You need at least 10 KlookCash to use it, applied with the KlookCash checkbox in the Discount section at checkout. It cannot be used for Klook Passes, e-Gift Cards, travel insurance, Stay+ packages or selected events such as some concerts and races. KlookCash spent on a booking you cancel is refunded to your account automatically.

Klook does not advertise a general sign-up discount, so look for promo codes shown at checkout.

Klook cancellations and refunds

Every product carries one of three cancellation policies, shown on the activity page and on the voucher:

No refund is given once the booking or activity has been completed. When you contact support, have your full name as used on the booking, the booking reference ID, the activity name and any supporting documents, such as a flight cancellation notice or a medical document.
