What is Uptime Monitor?
Uptime Monitor is a hosted uptime and availability monitoring service. It checks your endpoints every 10 seconds from AWS regions on 6 continents (the site shows regions such as us-east-1, us-east-2, eu-west-1 and ap-northeast-1). The site compares this to an average of 30 to 180 seconds between checks at other services. Each monitor gets multi-region verification, meaning a failure is confirmed from more than one location before you are alerted.
Supported monitor types:
- HTTP/HTTPS, with custom request headers or payloads and inspection of response headers and payloads
- TCP port checks
- Ping
- SSL certificate expiry, checked at least once a day with warnings 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before expiry
Alerts, status pages and tooling
Alert channels: email, Slack, Discord, webhooks, PagerDuty, incident.io, Opsgenie, Zendesk (listed in the docs) and iPhone push. Webhook, Slack, Discord and PagerDuty alerts have no sending limit. Email is capped: the daily email allowance equals your plan's monitor count (a 50-monitor plan gets 50 emails a day). Extra email credit packs of 1,000, 3,000 or 10,000 emails can be bought in Settings.
Status pages: unlimited public status pages on your own domain with automatic SSL, real-time updates, incident management and 90 days of incident history. Password protection is available. A live demo is linked from the homepage.
For developers: a REST API (monitors, contacts, incidents, status pages), an official CLI, a Terraform provider and a Claude Code skill, plus role-based team access.
Uptime Monitor pricing
There is one self-serve plan, Pro, sized by the number of monitors:
| Plan | Price | Monitors |
|---|---|---|
| Pro | from $4.95/month | 10 to 1,000 |
| Enterprise | contact sales | more monitors or custom requirements |
Pro includes multi-region verification, 10-second checks, all four monitor types, unlimited integration alerts, custom-domain status pages, API/CLI/Terraform access and team roles. The homepage shows only the starting price; the price for larger monitor counts is set in the plan selector. There is no permanent free plan, only the 7-day free trial.
Per the Terms of Service, subscriptions are billed in advance monthly or annually, and price changes are announced at least 30 days before they take effect.
Limits and things to check first
- No refunds. The Terms of Service state: "All sales are final. We do not offer refunds." Use the free trial to decide before you pay.
- Email alert cap tied to the number of monitors (see above); use Slack, webhooks or PagerDuty if you need unlimited alerts.
- No SMS or phone-call alerts are listed among the channels.
- Company and law. The terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York (Kings County), USA, and mention CodeMatters LLC; the site itself names no other legal entity or address.
