What is Dynadot?
Dynadot is a domain registrar operated by Dynadot Inc.; its site footer dates the service back to 2002. Its homepage lists 13M+ domains under management and 1M+ customers. The core services are:
- Domain registration and transfers across hundreds of TLDs (the site says 500+ in one place and 800+ in another), with AI and bulk search. A transfer adds one year to the expiration date, with some exceptions.
- Free extras with every registration: DNS management, domain forwarding, full API access and an AI logo builder. Privacy is included on eligible TLDs, either partial (everything but your name hidden) or full.
- Aftermarket: expired, user, backorder and last-chance auctions, plus a marketplace for buying and selling listed domains.
- Website builder and email: a drag-and-drop site builder and a free email address on your domain, with paid Pro plans.
- SSL certificates, sold separately.
Who it's for
Dynadot suits people who mainly need domains rather than a hosting bundle: owners of several domains who want bulk tools and API access, domain investors using auctions and backorders, and small projects that want a domain with free DNS, forwarding and a basic site or mailbox. The homepage does not advertise shared or VPS hosting plans.
Domain pricing at a glance
Regular-account prices for one year, in USD, from Dynadot's TLD price list:
| TLD | Register | Renew | Transfer |
|---|---|---|---|
| .com | $10.88 | $10.88 | $10.88 |
| .net | $12.52 | $12.52 | $12.52 |
| .org | $7.99 | $11.64 | $11.64 |
| .co | $15.50 | $31.20 | $31.20 |
| .io | $28.89 | $53.50 | $53.50 |
| .xyz | $1.99 | $14.45 | $14.45 |
| .shop | $1.99 | $32.32 | $32.32 |
The headline numbers for .com and .net stay the same at renewal, but many newer TLDs have a cheap first year and a much higher renewal price; .shop goes from $1.99 to $32.32. Check the renew column before you register. Payment is accepted in several currencies, including USD, EUR and GBP.
Dynadot refer-a-friend and affiliate programs
Dynadot runs a public Refer-a-Friend program called "Give $5, Get $5":
- When a new friend creates an account with your link or code and their first order is $9.99 or more, the referrer and the new account each get $5 in DynaDollars (account credit).
- The terms also require at least $1.99 spent in the last 365 days, and both accounts must follow Dynadot's service agreement.
- Credit can take up to 15 days to appear, can be used on any Dynadot purchase except adding more account credit, and the terms page says it does not expire. There is no cap on the number of referrals.
- Your code and custom link are under My Info → Refer-a-Friend once you sign in.
Separately, the affiliate program has two tracks, and you may join only one with no switching later: the in-house Ambassador program (30% on new-customer registrations and transfers, payouts managed in your Dynadot account) and a CJ Affiliate track (25%, paid on CJ's schedule). The affiliate page also lists 15% on expired, closeout and backorder auctions, and a fixed amount for Website Builder Pro and Email Pro.
Refunds and limits
- New registrations: a domain under 5 days old can be grace deleted for account credit minus a fee: $3.00 for .com, $2.00 for .net and .org, $1.00 for .xyz. Deletion is not guaranteed: registries cap the rate and you may be wait-listed.
- Renewals can only be undone by deleting the domain within 5 days of the order.
- Transfers are refunded if they fail.
- Website Builder Pro, Logo Builder Pro and Email Pro can be refunded within 30 days; SSL certificates within 7 days of issuance.
- Not refundable: user auction bids, backorder domains, installment payments, and payments by crypto, bank wire, check or bank transfer.
- Refunds go to your account balance unless you ask support to return them to the original payment method.
