Exe.io review: earn from short links, up to $18 per 1,000 views
Exe.io is a free link shortener that pays for unique views of your short links, at published rates from $2.25 to $18 per 1,000 views depending on the visitor's country. You can withdraw from $5 to PayPal, Bitcoin or USDT on Polygon whenever you pass the minimum, minus a 3% payout fee. Visitors see ad pages before reaching your destination.
Earnings depend on traffic quality; artificial clicks get accounts banned.
No extra sign-up bonus — the provider's standard offer applies.
Disclosure: this is an affiliate link. If you sign up through it, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The bonus and terms are set by Exe.io and can change — check them on the official site before you sign up.
How to get started
- Open Exe.io through the link on this page and register a free account; links shortened without an account don't earn.
- Shorten links one at a time, in bulk, with the bookmarklet, the developer API or the full-page script for your site.
- Share the short links with your audience; each visitor passes through an ad page.
- Track views in your account and check the rate table for your visitors' countries.
- Request a withdrawal to PayPal, Bitcoin or USDT (Polygon) once you pass $5.
What is Exe.io?
Exe.io is a monetized URL shortener: you share a short link, the visitor sees an ad page before the destination, and you are paid for each counted view. The site has run since 2016, according to its footer.
Ways to create links:
- Quick link and bulk shorten for a whole list at once.
- Full-page script that converts every outgoing link on your website.
- Bookmarklet for shortening from the browser.
- Developer API.
All of them produce the same kind of short link and earn at the same rate. The home page box also works without an account, but those anonymous links earn nothing.
There is an optional paid subscription. According to the FAQ it changes exactly two things: your own visits skip the ad pages, and your daily shortening limit goes up. Rates and tools are the same for free members. The price isn't shown on the public pages.
The site doesn't name its operating company or address on the pages we read; support is a contact form that replies "usually within a few days".
Who Exe.io suits, and what counts as a view
Exe.io suits people who share links with a real audience: Telegram and Discord channels, forums, download pages and blogs. It is a poor fit if your readers would resent an ad page, or if you hope to generate the views yourself.
A view only counts when:
- the link was made by a registered member;
- the visitor is unique within 24 hours;
- the visitor has JavaScript and cookies enabled;
- the visitor stays at least 6 seconds.
The terms forbid clicking your own links, bots, proxies, iframes, pop-ups, auto-redirects, redirect loops, traffic exchanges and PTC traffic, and say fake traffic leads to automatic account termination. Only one account per person is allowed.
For comparison, the FC.LC review covers a shortener with a $3 minimum and more payout methods, and the Cuty.io review one with the same top rate; more options are in our marketing category.

Withdrawals, fees and payment proof
- Methods and minimums: PayPal, Bitcoin and USDT (Polygon), each from $5.00.
- Timing: you can request a withdrawal as soon as you pass the minimum; there is no monthly payout window and no invoice to raise.
- Fee: the payment proof page states that amounts are shown before the 3% payout fee.
- Payment proof: a public list of completed payouts with masked usernames. It reported $2,153,719.55 paid out across 131,973 payments; these are the site's own figures.

The withdrawals listed are mostly between $5 and $35.
Verdict
Exe.io has clear published rates, a precise definition of a counted view and on-demand withdrawals, which is more transparency than many shorteners offer. The minuses: a $5 minimum, a 3% fee, only three payout methods, no named operator, and ad pages in front of every link. Test it with a small audience and an early $5 withdrawal before relying on it.
