Honeygain referral code and review
Honeygain is a free app that shares part of your unused internet connection and pays you in credits for the traffic it routes. Signing up with a referral code adds $3 to a new account. Cash-outs start at $20 via PayPal, or smaller amounts through JumpTask, and the app is not available in several sanctioned countries.
Referral link disclosure: the button above is our referral link. If you sign up through it, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The bonus and terms are set by Honeygain and can change — check them on the official site before you sign up.

What is Honeygain?
Honeygain describes itself as the first app that lets people make money online by sharing their internet connection. You install it on a device, it runs in the background, and it routes a small portion of your unused bandwidth for Honeygain's business partners, who use the network for web statistics, content delivery and market research.
You earn credits for every megabyte shared. Honeygain does not publish a fixed per-GB rate: earnings depend on connection uptime, network demand in your region and how many of your devices are active on different networks. Honeygain says the app does not access personal data or browsing history; you can pause it or set a daily traffic limit.
The service is operated by Honeygain, UAB, a private limited liability company registered in Vilnius, Lithuania (legal entity code 306103177).
Who it's for
Honeygain suits people with an always-on home connection and a spare device who want small passive earnings without doing tasks. It is not a way to replace an income.
Supported platforms:
- Windows and macOS desktop apps
- Android app
- Linux via a Docker image
Rules to know before installing:
- One account per person. The terms allow only one account.
- Device limits per IP. Honeygain limits how many devices can be attributed to one IP address at a time and publishes the current limit in its FAQ; traffic from one public IP is split among the devices using it.
- Your own network only. Connections provided by an employer, school, library, hotel, hospital, co-working space or other shared or public network are not allowed without express permission.
Payouts: $20 minimum, PayPal or JumpTask
Earnings are shown in credits: 1,000 credits equal $1, so the payout minimum of 20,000 credits is $20.
| Option | Minimum | What you receive |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | $20 | USD to a verified PayPal account |
| JumpTask | No $20 minimum | Gift cards, prepaid cards or crypto via JumpTask |
Honeygain says PayPal payouts usually arrive within a few business days, and that Honeygain itself charges no extra fee (PayPal may). Switching earnings to JumpTask is not retroactive.
Important time limits in the terms:
- If the app records no shared traffic and no payouts for more than six months, accrued earnings expire.
- Earnings that reached the $20 threshold stay valid for 24 months.
- Claims about an inaccurate payout must be made within 60 days of the request.
You may be asked to verify your email or identity depending on the payout method, and payouts may be unavailable if your country does not support the available payment methods.
Honeygain referral program terms
Honeygain runs a public refer-a-friend program that any user can join from the dashboard. According to the refer-a-friend page:
- New user: gets $3 for signing up with a referral code.
- Referrer: gets $5 each time a referred friend progresses to the $20 payout threshold.
The page lists no cap on the number of referrals. Referral earnings follow the same payout rules as other earnings. The homepage still mentions an older model, so treat the refer-a-friend page as current and check your dashboard after signing up.
Age and country restrictions
- Age: you must be at least 18 to use the app; accounts held by minors are closed.
- Unavailable countries: the app cannot be used by people located in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, or the occupied Ukrainian regions of Luhansk, Donetsk and Crimea. Honeygain may change this list in response to sanctions or regulation.
