What is Hive OS?

Hive OS is a mining operating system and management platform from Hiveon. Its Terms and Conditions name the operator as Big Bang Block Ltd., registered in the British Virgin Islands. You install the OS on your rigs, and they appear in a web dashboard where you can:

  • monitor hashrate, online status, GPU errors, power consumption and team activity;
  • switch pools, wallets and coins with Flight Sheets and apply GPU overclocking profiles across the farm;
  • reboot or troubleshoot rigs remotely and run bulk updates;
  • get alerts through Telegram and Discord, and manage farms from Android and iOS apps.

The same company runs Hiveon Pool, Hiveon ASIC firmware and ASIC Hub, which plug into the same account.

It suits home miners (the free tier covers two rigs) as well as farms that need remote control, alerts and multi-farm management; Hiveon Enterprise covers operations from 1,000 devices.

Hive OS pricing at a glance

Current pricing (model in place since March 11, 2024):

Device Price
First 2 workers Free, no coin, pool or GPU-count limits
GPU rig, 1 card $0.50/month
GPU rig, 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 cards $1.00 / $1.50 / $2.00 / $2.50 per month
GPU rig, 6+ cards $3.00/month
CPU-only rig $0.50/month
ASIC on Hiveon firmware Free (firmware dev fee 2–2.8%)
ASIC via ASIC Hub $2/month

A case of AMD BC-250 boards (12 rigs) is billed $6/month. Once you have 3 or more workers, all of them are paid, not just the extra one. The free tier keeps 3 days of stats, while paid farms get 180 days, SSL connections for workers and multi-farm management. API access and shared farm access are for paid farms only.

Volume discounts apply to the total workers across your farms: 10% from 50, 20% from 100, 30% from 250, 40% from 500 and 50% from 1,000. Depositing three months' worth of funds adds a 30% bonus to your balance.

Payments, refunds and limits

  • Crypto only. You can deposit ETH or stablecoins (USDT, USDC, DAI and others on ERC20 or BEP20) to an address generated in your account, or BTC and LTC through CoinPayments. Referral rewards can also pay your bill.
  • Prepaid, billed daily. Workers are charged per day. A worker that is switched off isn't billed.
  • No refunds. The balance can't be withdrawn, only moved between users and farms.
  • Debt. A farm with a debt of $1 or more gets 5 days of credit, after which it is blocked and mining stops.
  • Eligibility. You must be 18 or older. The OS terms exclude residents of North Korea, Iran, Russia and Belarus, and Hiveon reserves the right to run selective KYC/KYB checks and block accounts from sanctioned countries. Clone accounts are banned.

Hive OS referral program terms

Any registered user can find a personal referral link under Settings > Referrals. The referrer earns 10% of what each referral pays for Hive OS for as long as the referral uses it, with no cap on the number of referrals. A few conditions:

  • rewards accrue only when the referral deposits funds and adds miners;
  • if the referral's farm is in debt, the reward is paid once the debt is cleared;
  • for referrals mining on Hiveon Pool with more than 4 rigs, the reward is 10% of their 3% OS fee;
  • rewards go out at the start of each month once they reach $25, or you can move them to your Hive OS balance at any time.

Users can also create promo codes that put $10 on a new user's account. The link on this page is a plain referral link, so it does not add that credit. Hardware sellers can tag the rigs they sell with a ref_id.txt file, and Hiveon also runs a separate partnership for vendors.
