What is Text.com?

Text describes itself as a customer service growth platform. It is run by Text, Inc., whose terms of use give a principal office in Boston, Massachusetts. The team previously built LiveChat, HelpDesk and ChatBot, and those products now sit inside one workspace:

• AI Agent answers customer questions around the clock from the knowledge sources you add, recommends products and can add them to the cart. You decide when a chat is handed to a person, and the history goes with it.
• Live chat widget for your website.
• HelpDesk ticketing, so follow-ups become tasks with an owner.
• Shared inbox for website chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, SMS and email, with customer history.
• Skills and workflows that automate routine tasks you describe in plain language.
• Sales tracking that ties orders to conversations, during a chat or up to 30 days after it.

Integrations include Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Webflow and HubSpot, plus an API and webhooks. Text says it is SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR and CCPA compliant, and that its chat widget meets WCAG 2.2 AA.

Who it's for

Text suits online stores and service businesses that answer customers in chat and email and want AI to take the repeat questions. HelpDesk.com claims the AI Agent handles up to 73% of routine chat questions before they become tickets. The Shopify catalog sync, cart recovery campaigns and AI Agent sales report make it most relevant for e-commerce.

Small teams can start on Essential; teams that need routing rules, working hours, supervision and unlimited history will want Growth. Enterprise adds SSO, audit logs, a white-label widget and SLAs.

Pricing is per user (seat); the pricing page lists no per-ticket fees.

Key limits:

Add-ons: 50 extra AI resolutions for $49.50 and 100,000 extra API calls for $29.50. Yearly billing saves up to 24%.

• 20% recurring commission on every payment from a referred customer while the subscription stays active, rising to 22% on new licenses after 5 paying customers.
• 5% recurring commission on sales made by partners you refer.
• Up to 120-day cookie.
• $50 minimum withdrawal, paid by PayPal; you need to add PayPal details to withdraw.
• Partners can offer referrals a $10 credit or 10% off the first payment through campaigns.

Payouts are PayPal-only, and PayPal payments are hard to receive in Russia, so partners there should plan another way to get paid.

Trial, billing and refunds

Text's terms of use give new clients a free, fully functional trial with no credit card required; Text can end a trial early at its discretion. After that, subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically for the same period. You can cancel paid services at any time before the next billing cycle, and the change applies from that cycle.

All fees are non-refundable: the terms say no refunds or credits are issued for unused time. Test the AI Agent on real chats during the trial before you pay.
