What is Ontraport?

Ontraport was founded in 2006 by Landon Ray, Pin Chen and Steven Schneider in Santa Barbara, California, and lists its headquarters in Covina, California. It describes itself as a platform that "unifies CRM, marketing automation, payments and your website on one database", aimed at established small and mid-sized businesses.

Main building blocks:

• CRM: contact records with unified history, smart pipelines, deals and companies, lead scoring and routing, task automation, calendar and a mobile app.
• Marketing automation: a drag-and-drop campaign builder, email and two-way SMS, tracking and attribution, Meta custom audiences and an AI Assistant inside workflows.
• Payments: order forms, subscriptions, upsells and order bumps, offline transactions and decline recovery, all tied to the contact record.
• Websites and membership: drag-and-drop pages, forms, memberships and courses, plus a Dynamic CMS.
• Partner programs: you can run your own affiliate program, with referral tracking and commission approvals inside Ontraport (payouts to your partners are sent separately).

Who it's for

Ontraport fits businesses that sell online and want CRM, automation and checkout in one system instead of stitching several tools together: coaches, course creators, membership sites, agencies and service businesses with a sales team. It is overkill if you only need a simple newsletter tool.

No country restrictions are stated on the pages we checked. Fees are charged in US dollars, and the terms reference GDPR and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Ontraport pricing at a glance

Prices on Ontraport's pricing page depend on the plan and how many contacts you store. Starting prices for 500 contacts, billed monthly:

• Plus: CRM and automation essentials, lead routing, online payments; up to 10 users.
• Pro: adds conversion and lead-source reporting, automatic UTM capture, split-testing pages, order bumps, custom roles and permissions, and partner programs.
• Enterprise: adds field-level permissions, a faster API option, quarterly account review and an uptime SLA; SSO and private infrastructure are paid add-ons.
• Annual billing gives two months free (you pay for 10 months) but commits you for the year.
• Add-ons: Dynamic CMS from $49/month, a Done-with-you Setup and Training package ($897 one-time), SMS, AI credits and the shared inbox are priced separately.

The older Basic plan is no longer offered to new customers.

Trial, refunds and cancellation

All plans start with a 14-day free trial, and Ontraport does not ask for card details until you upgrade. According to the pricing FAQ, if you cancel within the first 30 days after signing up and contact support, your payment is refunded in full. The legal terms add limits: usage fees, setup fees and annual subscriptions are not refundable, and you must cancel first, then request the refund by email.

Ontraport referral and partner programs

Ontraport runs several partner tracks, described on its partners page:

• Customer referral program: open to all Ontraport clients. You earn 25% of the monthly fees of every account you refer, for the lifetime of their subscription. Earnings are tracked in the Partner Center; the page headlines weekly commissions but does not state payout method or minimum.
• VIP tier: referrers bringing in 20 or more accounts per month get automated monthly reporting, weekly check-in calls with a VIP Services manager and daily launch reporting.
• Influencer partners: co-promotion support and lifetime commissions; the rate is not published, contact partners@ontraport.com.
• Separate VAR/agency, Expert and Integrations programs exist.

The referral program pays the referrer; a referred customer gets no published discount or bonus for signing up through a referral link.
